a. In order to make your divorce specific to your situation, we need information from you! That includes information about your spouse and your children. We will email you an easy form to fill out online. No documents to print and scan. You can even start it and come back and finish it later.
b. We also need information regarding your personal property. This will help us to prepare the necessary documents to properly transfer assets between you and your spouse. For example, if you have a house that is going to the husband, and two cars are going to the wife and one motorcycle to the husband. Then certain documents must be prepared with the divorce to properly give ownership of these items to the proper spouse. Otherwise later, after the divorce, you will have a big mess on your hands!

a. Once all documents are prepared, we will email them to you (and your spouse if requested).
b. We will also request to schedule a phone conference to review all documents with you for accuracy and completeness.
c. Once you approve the documents prepared, we will file them with the court on your behalf. Note: filing fees are not included with our service. We work with every client to see if fees can be waived. Most clients do not pay any filing fees.

a. Texas requires a 60 day waiting period from the day that you file for divorce. Therefore, our goal is to file your divorce within 2 days of hiring us so the clock can begin to tick on that 60 day waiting period. We will schedule your divorce “prove-up” approximately 61 days after we file the petition.
b. Only one spouse need attend Court for prove-up of the divorce; however, both are always welcome. One of you must attend court!
c. At court, you will go before the judge with our attorney. We will ask you some basic questions about the divorce and the agreement that you and your spouse have reached. The judge will then grant the divorce and sign the Final Divorce Decree that our attorney has filed with the court.
